This place is surrounded with legends and tales and has its very own distinctive features: raw sands and a sea
almost always in turmoil.
There you find the famous "Crying Cave" where the story goes that tears of virgins flow from the
walls. The poor girls were sacrified to still the hunger of a giant snake that lived there. Then a priest
blessed the entrance of the cave banishing the snake forever to the sea which since then is always in turmoil.
At Sununga people practice skimboarding, locally called "Sorrisal" because the board resembles a
giant "Sorrisal" or "Alka Seltzer" tablet. |
